TBR Flanged Round Rail Assembly

The steel shaft sits in an aluminium rail base and remains supported underneath throughout its length. The bearing block surrounds the exposed running surface while leaving clearance for the support below.

 

A flange extends from both sides of the TBR block. Its through holes allow the machine plate to be bolted directly to the block without adding a separate bearing housing. This feature is useful when the fasteners must be inserted through the carriage plate from above.

 

Four shaft sizes are shown on the page: TBR16, TBR20, TBR25 and TBR30. Block dimensions and assembly height increase with the shaft size, so changing to a larger rail also affects the position and hole layout of the moving plate.

 

Product Description

The rail length should be determined from the required movement plus the space occupied by the bearing blocks at both ends. If two blocks are used on one rail, their spacing must also be included when calculating the finished length.

 

For a two-rail machine table, block spacing should be planned around the mounted load. Placing the blocks farther apart generally gives the plate a wider supporting footprint, but it also increases the minimum rail length required for the same travel.

 

The mounting surface must provide uninterrupted support beneath the aluminium base. Dirt, raised paint or burrs trapped under one section can alter the rail height and cause the blocks on parallel rails to resist each other.

 

During assembly, attach the blocks to the carriage plate without fully tightening them. Move the plate through the complete stroke while aligning the second rail, then tighten the fasteners in stages. Movement should be checked again before connecting the drive system.

 

Individual blocks should be replaced with the same TBR size and body length. External appearance alone is not enough for identification because standard and extended blocks can use the same shaft diameter but occupy different mounting space.

FAQ

Does the ordered rail length equal the available travel?

No. Part of the rail is occupied by the block body, block spacing and required end clearance. These dimensions must be added to the working stroke.

Why does the block have a flange?

The flange provides a direct mounting face for the moving plate and allows bolts to pass through the block's mounting holes.

Can standard and long blocks be mixed on one machine?

They may have different body lengths and mounting-hole positions. Mixing them can change the support spacing and plate layout, so the complete block drawings must be checked first.

What information is needed when replacing an existing block?

Provide the full block marking, shaft diameter, overall block length, mounting-hole spacing and assembly height. A photograph should be used together with dimensions, not as the only reference.

Can the rail length be prepared for an existing machine?

We build to customer drawings under OEM/ODM, and accept orders as small as a single piece for standard sizes.
