SCVUU Short Body Linear Bearing Unit

Product Details

A linear ball bushing is installed inside the aluminum housing and retained at both ends. The bearing balls circulate while the complete housing travels along a hardened round shaft.

 

The letter V identifies the shortened housing configuration. Compared with a standard SCUU block of the same shaft size, the SCVUU requires less space in the direction of travel. The UU suffix indicates sealing at both ends of the internal bearing.

 

Prepared mounting holes allow the housing to be fastened directly to a moving plate. The bearing, seals and housing are supplied as one unit, while the guide shaft and shaft supports are selected separately.

 

Product Description

SCVUU models are available for shaft diameters from 8 mm to 60 mm. Each model contains the corresponding LMUU linear bearing, such as an LM20UU inside an SC20VUU housing.

 

The shortened body is useful near end plates, drive brackets or other components that restrict the available carriage length. However, it also produces a shorter bearing support zone. Applications with a large overturning moment may require two blocks on each shaft or a longer housing arrangement.

 

Two parallel shafts should be aligned before the blocks are fully tightened to the moving plate. The bearing cannot compensate for incorrect shaft spacing or angular misalignment. Binding after assembly normally indicates that the shaft positions or mounting surfaces require correction.

 

The shaft should have suitable hardness, surface finish, diameter tolerance and straightness for recirculating linear bearings. Lubrication must be maintained according to operating speed, load and working environment.

FAQ

What is the difference between SCVUU and standard SCUU?

SCVUU uses a shorter housing length. It is selected when installation space along the shaft is limited.

What does the UU suffix indicate?

UU identifies seals installed at both ends of the internal linear bearing.

Can SCVUU run on an unhardened steel rod?

An unhardened or poorly finished rod can wear quickly and damage the ball tracks. A hardened and ground linear shaft should be used.

Can one SCVUU block resist a large overturning load?

Its short bearing length limits moment-load capacity. Two blocks or a longer bearing unit may be required when the load is positioned far from the shaft centerline.

Are the shaft and shaft supports included?

No. The table describes the housed bearing unit. The shaft, end supports and mounting fasteners should be confirmed separately.

Can the housing or mounting arrangement be customized?

We build to customer drawings under OEM/ODM, and accept orders as small as a single piece for standard sizes.
