Product Details

The threaded shank connects the joint to a linkage rod, bracket or actuator component. Its installed position can be adjusted along the mating thread before being secured with a suitable locknut.

 

Inside the circular head, the spherical inner ring can tilt relative to the rod-end body. This movement allows the connected pin to operate when the two linkage components are not positioned on exactly the same axis.

 

The housing has a zinc-plated surface, while the bearing components are identified as chrome steel. Depending on the selected size, lubricant is introduced through a lubrication hole or grease fitting.

 

Product Description

POS models are available with right-hand or left-hand external threads. Opposite thread directions can be used at the two ends of an adjustable linkage, allowing its working length to be changed without disconnecting both joints.

 

After adjustment, the threaded connection must be locked securely. The spherical bearing should remain free to articulate and must not be used as the tightening surface for the linkage.

 

The joint is intended mainly for radial loading and low-speed oscillating movement. A permissible articulation angle does not mean that the bearing can carry unrestricted axial force. Load direction, thread engagement, operating angle and lubrication condition must all be considered.

 

Grease should be applied through the available lubrication point until the bearing surfaces receive adequate lubricant. The interval depends on movement frequency, applied load, contamination and operating temperature.

Can the threaded shank be used to adjust linkage length?

Yes. Its position can be adjusted within the mating thread, but adequate thread engagement must be maintained and the final position must be secured.

Are right-hand and left-hand threads interchangeable?

No. The thread direction and specification must match the mating component. Include the required direction when ordering.

Can the POS joint carry continuous axial load?

It is primarily selected for radial loading. Any axial component must remain within the limit specified for the selected model and installation.

Do all POS sizes use the same grease fitting?

No. The lubrication arrangement may be a hole or grease fitting depending on the model. Confirm the actual construction before arranging access around the joint.

Is POS interchangeable with POSA?

Do not assume interchangeability from the bore size alone. Compare the complete designation, thread, housing dimensions and product drawing.
