SBR16 Aluminum Guide Rail
A rolling guide built from a hardened shaft mounted in an aluminum seat, paired with a recirculating-ball slide block — the aluminum seat is what separates this SBR16 rail assembly from the LUU-style bearing block sold separately.
Description
Rolling steel balls cycle between the slide block and the shaft rather than sliding directly against it, which is the main reason this type of guide outperforms a traditional machine tool slideway - friction drops to roughly 1/50 of what a plain sliding guide produces. Less starting friction means less "stiction" when the load platform first begins to move, which is what actually determines whether a system can hit high-precision feed and positioning or not. Paired with a ball screw, this rail becomes the guiding element that lets the screw's positioning accuracy actually show up at the load platform, rather than getting lost to slop in the guide.
Built from aluminum and stainless steel - aluminum seat, hardened shaft - model SBR16, in the slide-rail-plus-slide-block configuration. It's commonly used in CNC machining, engraving machines, and other machine tool applications.
We build to customer drawings or samples under OEM/ODM, with full size options available. Lead time is roughly 2–3 days for in-stock items, 8–15 days for made-to-order, depending on quantity and model.
