One Assembly, Not Two Loose Parts

The flange is part of the bearing body. Removing the four mounting fasteners releases the complete LMF unit from the machine plate; there is no separate flange holder left around the shaft.

 

This construction reduces the number of parts in the bearing location, but it also determines how maintenance must be performed. Because the bore is completely closed, the bearing cannot be opened and lifted sideways from the shaft.

 

Plan the Removal Route

An LMF bearing must leave the shaft through one of its ends. If both shaft ends are trapped inside the machine frame, replacing the bearing requires removal of a shaft support or another surrounding component.

 

The machine layout should therefore provide enough axial space to slide the bearing clear of the shaft. Tool access to all four flange bolts must remain available after covers, motors and guards have been installed.

 

Before fitting a replacement, inspect the section of shaft that passed through the damaged bearing. Grooves, dents or raised edges can damage the new seals and ball circuits during installation. The replacement should be pushed onto a chamfered shaft end without striking the flange.

FAQ

Can the bearing be removed from the middle of the shaft?

No. The closed body cannot separate radially, so it must slide off an accessible shaft end.

Is the round flange a separate holder?

No. It is integrated with the bearing sleeve and is removed with the complete unit.

Can only the internal ball cage be replaced?

The page presents the LMF as a complete bearing assembly. Internal repair parts are not listed separately.

What should be inspected before installing a replacement?

Check the shaft for scratches, raised edges, corrosion and damage near the entry chamfer.

Why is maintenance space important?

The bearing needs axial room to clear the shaft, and all four flange fasteners must remain accessible.
