Identifying the Part

An LMH replacement should not be identified from the shaft diameter alone. The photographs show a one-sided flange with four mounting holes and a long cylindrical section behind it. Another flange series may fit the same shaft while requiring a completely different opening and bolt pattern.

 

The UU suffix refers to seals fitted at both ends of the bearing. It does not identify the body length, accuracy grade or lubrication interval. Those details must be checked separately.

 

Models printed on the page range from LMH6UU to LMH60UU. The number in each designation corresponds to the nominal shaft size, but it does not describe the outside diameter or flange dimensions.

 

Measurements for Replacement

Remove the old unit and record the shaft bore first. Then measure the cylindrical body outside diameter and body length without including the flange.

 

The flange requires its own measurements: overall width, overall height, thickness, hole diameter and horizontal and vertical hole spacing. These dimensions determine whether the replacement will enter the existing carriage and align with its four screws.

 

Also note which side of the carriage carries the flange. Because the flange is positioned at one end of the sleeve, reversing the bearing changes where the cylindrical body projects and where maintenance access remains available.

FAQ

Is LMH the same as an ordinary cylindrical LM bearing?

No. LMH includes an integral mounting flange and requires a corresponding four-hole carriage layout.

Can two LMH bearings with the same bore have different outside dimensions?

Yes. Bore size alone does not confirm flange size, body length or mounting-hole spacing.

Does UU mean that lubrication is never required?

No. UU identifies the two end seals. Lubrication requirements still depend on use, speed and operating conditions.

Which measurements are most important for replacing an unidentified unit?

Record the shaft bore, body diameter, body length, flange outline and complete four-hole pattern.

Can the bearing be installed with the flange facing either direction?

Only when the machine has enough space for the projecting body and still provides access to the flange screws.

Can production follow the dimensions of an existing carriage?
