SCE16UU Enclosed Linear Bearing Block
SCE16UU combines a recirculating linear ball bearing with a rectangular aluminium housing for travel along a 16 mm round shaft. The assembled block gives machine builders a flat mounting surface without requiring a separate bearing bore to be machined into the moving component.

Product Details
The SCE16UU housing surrounds a closed linear bearing and carries it as one mounting unit. Four holes on the upper face allow a table, plate or fixture to be secured directly to the block. The bearing inside recirculates balls around the shaft, reducing sliding resistance during straight-line movement.
This is a closed block intended for use on a round shaft that can pass completely through the bearing. It differs from the previously processed SCE16VUU, whose housing configuration is not the same. It is also not a complete rail system: the shaft, shaft supports and aluminium support rail are separate components unless specifically included in the order.
Product Description
A typical installation uses two parallel shafts with one or more bearing blocks on each shaft. Alignment between the shafts is important because the SCE16UU does not compensate for a large mounting error. If the shafts are not parallel, the blocks may become tight at part of the travel or place uneven load on the ball circuits.
Use the block with a shaft of the correct diameter and suitable surface condition. Before final tightening, move the carriage through its complete stroke and confirm that resistance remains consistent. Lubrication should be maintained according to operating speed, load, travel frequency and the amount of contamination present.
The UU designation indicates seals at both ends of the bearing. These seals help limit the entry of dust but do not make the block waterproof or suitable for abrasive contamination without additional protection.

No. This page is for the bearing block. Shafts, end supports and supported-rail components should be specified separately unless the quotation states otherwise.
