SCS Enclosed Round Shaft Carriage
The SCS unit provides a ready-made carriage for a round shaft. Its completely enclosed bore surrounds the shaft, while the flat aluminum body gives the machine builder a direct surface for attaching a moving plate.

Product Details
The bearing is already located inside a rectangular housing, so the machine plate does not need a separately machined cylindrical bearing seat. Four mounting positions on the upper face connect the SCS body to the moving component.
Because the bore is closed on every side, the shaft must enter through one end of the block during assembly. The unit cannot pass over a continuous support fixed beneath the shaft. This construction therefore belongs to a different type of round-shaft system from open SBR or TBR carriages.
The installed linear bearing recirculates its balls as the housing moves. The bearing size and the guide-shaft diameter must correspond; the aluminum body does not compensate for an incorrect shaft fit.
Machine Layout
For a two-shaft mechanism, establish the distance and parallel relationship between the shafts before fully tightening the carriage plate. If all blocks are locked to the plate while the shafts remain out of position, the assembly may feel tight even though each individual block moves correctly.
Move the carriage through its complete working distance during alignment. Resistance that appears only near one end often points to changing shaft spacing, a bent shaft or support positions that are not on the same line.
SCS is a fixed-clearance housing. The body does not have the longitudinal adjustment slot used on an SCAJ block. The threaded opening visible on the side must not be treated as a general clearance-adjustment screw without checking the supplied drawing.

FAQ
Can an SCS block be installed on a continuously supported shaft?
No. Its closed underside surrounds the complete shaft and cannot clear a support rail running beneath it.
Does the block need a separate bearing housing?
No. The linear bearing is already retained inside the aluminum carriage body.
Why can two correctly sized blocks bind after assembly?
The shafts may not be parallel, or the mounting plate may force the blocks into a position different from their natural running line.
Can the side opening be used to adjust bearing clearance?
SCS is treated as a fixed-clearance series. Do not use the side opening for adjustment unless that function is confirmed by the applicable product drawing.
Which dimensions should be checked before replacement?
Confirm the shaft diameter, housing length and width, shaft center height, mounting-hole positions and bolt specification.
Can a unit be supplied from an installation drawing?
We build to customer drawings under OEM/ODM, and accept orders as small as a single piece for standard sizes.
