SK Split Bore Shaft Holder

SK Split Bore Shaft Holder

The SK series is a compact pedestal used to hold a round rod above a machine base. A cut through the bore allows the grip to be released and retightened during assembly.

Description

SK 27

Product Details

An SK unit consists of an aluminum pedestal, a machined circular opening and a lateral locking screw. The opening carries the rod while the lower face sits directly on the equipment frame.

Available references run from SK8 to SK60. The number following SK corresponds to the nominal bore diameter in millimetres. It does not indicate the pedestal height or mounting-hole distance.

This part has no rolling elements. It remains fixed after installation, while movement takes place through a separate bushing, carriage or bearing fitted elsewhere on the same rod.

Product Description

During assembly, leave the pedestal bolts slightly loose and pass the rod through the bores. The two units can then settle onto a common centerline. Secure the pedestal bases first and close the lateral screws afterward. This order prevents the rod from being pulled away from its intended position.

For replacement work, matching the bore alone is insufficient. Compare the center height, overall width and base-hole arrangement with the existing installation. An SK pedestal should not be treated as dimensionally interchangeable with an SHF flange holder.

The slotted opening also makes later disassembly easier. Releasing the lateral screw removes the gripping force, allowing the rod to be withdrawn without replacing the complete pedestal.

FAQ

What does the SK number represent?
It indicates the nominal shaft diameter. For example, SK20 is intended for a 20 mm shaft.

Does this support slide during operation?
No. The SK body fixes the shaft to the machine base. Motion is produced by a separate linear bearing or carriage.

When should the clamp screw be tightened?
Tighten it after the shaft and both supports have been aligned. This helps prevent the shaft from being locked at an angle.

Can an SK holder directly replace an SHF holder?
Not necessarily. Their mounting direction, center height and bolt pattern are different, so the installation dimensions must match.

Can the support be supplied with a matching shaft?
Yes. We build to customer drawings under OEM/ODM, and accept orders as small as a single piece for standard sizes.
