SHF-A Side Lock Shaft End Mount

The SHF-A secures the end of a round guide shaft to a machine frame through a split bore and a two-hole mounting flange. Available models cover shaft diameters from 3 mm to 60 mm.

Product Details

The guide shaft passes through the circular opening and remains stationary after the fasteners are tightened. The split in the housing allows the bore to close around the shaft without requiring a separate bearing insert.

 

Two flange holes connect the mount to the machine structure. The product drawing also identifies a locking bolt and a clamping bolt for each model. Their thread sizes change across the series and should be checked in the original SHF-A dimension chart.

 

The housing is manufactured from aluminium alloy with a sandblasted and oxidized surface. It contains no balls, seals or rolling raceways and should not be described as a linear bearing.

 

Product Description

Installation should begin with the two end mounts positioned loosely on their mounting faces. Insert the shaft and establish its required height and parallel alignment before completing the tightening sequence. Clamping the shaft first can make subsequent alignment difficult and may place side force on the moving bearing block.

 

Model selection is determined by more than the shaft diameter. Compare the overall width, flange-hole spacing, mounting-hole diameter, body thickness and bolt threads with the available machine space.

 

The published series runs from SHF3A through SHF60A. Small models share some external dimensions, but the bore diameter still follows the complete model designation. The corresponding shaft, linear bearing and mounting hardware are separate components unless included in the quotation.

FAQ

Does an SHF-A move along the shaft?

No. The mount remains fixed to the machine frame and holds the shaft stationary. A separate linear bearing or carriage provides the moving element.

Should the shaft be clamped before the two supports are aligned?

No. Position the supports and shaft first, check alignment, and then tighten the mounting and clamping fasteners in stages.

Can the model be selected only by measuring the shaft?

The shaft diameter identifies the bore, but the flange width, hole spacing, body thickness and available installation space must also match the drawing.

Does the support include a linear bearing?

No. The SHF-A is a stationary shaft-end mount without internal rolling elements.

Can a non-standard mounting size be produced?

We build to customer drawings under OEM/ODM, and accept orders as small as a single piece for standard sizes.
