MGN15H Long Miniature Guide Carriage

Product Details

The model marking on the carriage identifies an MGN15H. Its upper face has four threaded holes arranged in a rectangular pattern. These holes receive the screws from the moving plate, while the rail is attached independently to the stationary structure.

 

Choosing the H block changes the length of the supported area beneath the plate. This is useful when tooling, sensors or a drive connection place force away from the centre of the carriage. The block must still remain within the permitted load and moment values for the selected specification.

 

One photograph shows two MGN15H blocks installed on the same rail. This arrangement allows the designer to increase the distance between the supporting points. The blocks may be positioned to suit the plate, but both units must remain within the usable rail length throughout the complete movement.

 

Sizing the Assembly

Start with the dimensions of the moving plate rather than selecting rail length first. Mark the four mounting holes required by each carriage, the desired distance between carriages and the position of the applied load.

 

Next, add the required travel. The rail must remain underneath every carriage at both ends of movement, so ordered rail length is always greater than the requested stroke. A two-block layout may need a longer rail because the spacing between the blocks also occupies part of the available length.

 

Finally, specify the number of carriages. "One rail set" does not automatically mean that two blocks are included. Rail quantity, block quantity and finished rail length should appear separately on the order.

Why are two carriages shown on one rail?

Two blocks may be spaced beneath a longer plate or used where the assembly must resist a greater overturning effect. They do not create additional travel.

Can an MGN15H block be fitted to any 15 mm guide rail?

No. The rail must belong to the compatible MGN15 profile. A similar nominal width does not guarantee matching raceway geometry.

Can the carriage be removed by sliding it off the rail?

Only with a transfer rail or another suitable retention method. Removing it without support may displace the internal balls.

Is 230421-75G the complete product model?

No. The confirmed product model is MGN15H. The remaining characters should be treated as production identification unless the factory drawing states otherwise.

Can rail length and carriage quantity be specified separately?
