Product Details

An MGW code can be read in three steps. "MGW" identifies the wide miniature guideway family. The number that follows gives the nominal size. The final letter distinguishes the carriage length.

 

For example, MGW12C and MGW12H belong to the same size group, but they do not use the same carriage body. MGW12C is the standard-length version; MGW12H is the extended version. The same naming rule applies to sizes 5, 7, 9 and 15.

 

The catalogue drawings provide separate dimensions and ratings for every complete model code. Customers should therefore specify MGW12H rather than writing only MGW12, especially when purchasing a replacement carriage.

 

Product Description

Selection begins with the machine drawing. Check the available rail width and carriage mounting pattern first. After the nominal size is established, choose C or H according to the permitted block length and the required rated capacity.

 

Rail length is entered separately in the order code. The number of carriages must also be stated; a photograph showing two blocks does not define the supplied quantity.

 

Preload and precision are additional code positions, not descriptive sales terms. The catalogue shows ZF, Z0 and Z1 preload codes together with C, H and P precision codes. These codes should match the requested assembly and should not be inferred from the product appearance.

 

The internal ball retainer helps keep the rolling elements inside the carriage during careful removal. For storage or installation, however, a carriage is best kept on its rail or on a transfer rail. The raceways should be protected from dirt and supplied with suitable lubrication before operation.

3. Is ordering MGW12 enough to identify the product?

Not necessarily. State the required number of carriages per rail in the inquiry or drawing.

5. Can the rail length and complete assembly be made to a drawing?
