SCS Housed Linear Bearing Block

Product Details

Inside the housing is a closed linear bearing with recirculating steel balls. Four threaded mounting holes are provided on the block, removing the need to make a separate bearing housing.

 

SCS is the standard fixed-clearance version. Unlike the slotted SCAJ block, it does not provide an external screw for adjusting the bearing clearance.

 

Product Description

The block is used in 3D printers, small CNC equipment, test fixtures and other round-shaft motion systems. During travel, the steel balls roll along the shaft and return through passages inside the bearing.

 

The SCS model must match the nominal shaft diameter. Mounting-hole spacing, centre height and overall block dimensions should also be checked because blocks of the same bore size may follow different housing standards.

 

Use a hardened linear shaft with a suitable surface finish. A soft or damaged shaft can mark the ball tracks and cause rough movement.
