SCS Aluminum Shaft Carriage
The SCS carriage turns a standard round shaft into a practical mounting point for a moving plate, sensor bracket or machine fixture.

Technical Description
At the center of the carriage is a ball bushing sized to the shaft. An aluminum body surrounds the bearing and provides a flat upper face for attaching the moving component. This avoids the need to manufacture a separate bearing housing.
The block travels directly on a smooth round shaft. It does not include the shaft, and it is not designed for profile rails such as HGH or HGW. It should also not be confused with an SBR block: the SCS bearing is closed around the shaft, whereas an SBR block has an opening that clears the support underneath its rail.
Choose the carriage by shaft diameter first. After that, compare the overall width, height and mounting-hole positions with the available space in the machine. The page covers bore sizes from 8 mm through 60 mm, including the SCS12UU example.
A block that feels tight after installation is often being affected by shaft misalignment rather than the bearing size itself. Set parallel shafts from the same reference surface and tighten the carriage only after it can move through the required stroke without binding.

FAQ
Q: Which measurement should I check first?
A: Start with the shaft diameter. The nominal SCS size must correspond to that diameter before the housing dimensions are considered.
Q: Why is the block difficult to move after mounting?
A: Check whether the shaft is straight and whether paired shafts are parallel. Tightening a carriage across misaligned shafts can make a correctly sized bearing feel tight.
Q: Is a guide shaft supplied automatically?
A: No. Treat the block and shaft as separate items unless both are listed in the quotation.
Q: Is this another name for an SBR block?
A: No. Both products use round shafts, but the SCS bearing surrounds the shaft completely. An SBR block has an open underside for clearing the rail support.
Q: What should be included with an enquiry?
A: Send the shaft diameter, required quantity and any dimensional restrictions around the mounting area. Include a drawing when the standard housing cannot be used.
