SBR16LUU Dual Bearing Rail Carriage

Product Details

The opening beneath the carriage allows the bearing to pass over the aluminum support fixed below the round shaft. This gives the shaft continuous support along its length instead of leaving it suspended only between two end mounts.

 

SBR16LUU is the extended version of the SBR16 carriage. Its 85 mm body is considerably longer than the 45 mm SBR16UU block. The two internal bearing sections increase the published dynamic rating from 774 N to 1548 N and the static rating from 1180 N to 2360 N.

 

The metal strips visible on the upper housing are fixed parts of this carriage construction. They are not loose shims and must not be placed beneath the rail for height adjustment.

 

Product Description

The longer body distributes a direct load over more rolling contacts and provides a larger connection area for the moving plate. It is useful when the machine layout requires one extended carriage but does not have enough travel length for two independently spaced blocks.

 

A long carriage cannot automatically replace two separate blocks in every design. Two blocks positioned farther apart may provide greater resistance to pitch or yaw moments. The load position and plate dimensions must therefore be checked before deciding between one SBR16LUU and two SBR16UU carriages.

 

The supported rail should be fastened to a flat mounting surface before the carriage plate is installed. Twisting the rail base or forcing two parallel rails into alignment can create tight movement across part of the stroke. Final tightening should be completed only after the connected plate moves through the full working distance without binding.

 

The quotation should identify the rail length, number of SBR16LUU carriages and whether mounting hardware is required. Product photographs showing several blocks do not define the standard supplied quantity.

How does SBR16LUU differ from SBR16UU?

SBR16LUU has an 85 mm extended body and two bearing sections. SBR16UU has a 45 mm standard body and lower published load ratings.

Are the metal pieces on top used to level the rail?

No. They belong to the carriage housing. Rail-height correction requires a properly prepared mounting surface or separately specified precision shims.

Can this block be installed on an unsupported 16 mm shaft?

Its open underside is intended to clear the support beneath an SBR rail. Using it with the matching supported rail preserves the main structural advantage of the system.

Can one SBR16LUU replace two standard blocks?

Not in every installation. Two separate blocks can be positioned farther apart, which may provide better resistance to an offset or turning load.

Can the rail length and carriage quantity be specified?

We build to customer drawings under OEM/ODM, and accept orders as small as a single piece for standard sizes.
