Steel balls circulate through tracks inside the cylindrical outer shell as the bearing travels along a matching linear shaft. The extended body is the identifying feature of the LUU series and requires a correspondingly longer mounting bore.

 

This format is useful when a carriage needs broader guidance but has insufficient space for two separate standard bearings. It remains a single bearing component and must be installed inside a correctly sized housing or bearing block.

 

Standard model references range from LM06LUU to LM60LUU. Each number identifies the nominal shaft diameter, while the LUU suffix distinguishes the extended version from the shorter LM UU construction.

 

Product Description

A replacement should be selected from all three principal dimensions: shaft bore, outside diameter and bearing length. Matching only the bore can result in a bearing that fits the shaft but cannot be installed in the existing housing.

 

The longer body also changes the required assembly space. The housing must support the bearing without pressing against its seals or deforming the outer cylinder. Retaining grooves, shoulders or rings should correspond to the selected model drawing.

 

The shaft should pass through the bearing without being forced into alignment. If two bearings or two parallel shafts are used, their positions must be established before the mounting bolts are fully tightened. Lubrication and protection from abrasive particles remain necessary throughout operation.

Is an LM LUU bearing interchangeable with an LM UU bearing?

Not automatically. They may use the same shaft diameter, but the LUU version has a longer body and requires additional housing space.

Does the longer bearing include its mounting block?

No. This page describes the cylindrical bearing. A housing or bearing block should be specified separately unless included in the quotation.

Can the bearing run on an ordinary steel rod?

A compatible hardened and finished linear shaft should be used. An unsuitable rod surface can damage the balls and produce irregular movement.

What dimensions are needed for replacement?

Provide the shaft diameter, bearing outside diameter, total bearing length and any retaining-groove positions.

Can a standard model be ordered individually?
