Four Hole Flange Bearing Sleeve video

Four Hole Flange Bearing Sleeve

A self-contained linear bearing with a cylindrical sleeve that passes through the mounting plate and a four-hole flange that fixes its position on the plate face.

Description

Product Details

The flange and bearing sleeve are manufactured as one mounting component. The long cylindrical section enters a clearance bore in the machine plate, while the flange remains outside and is secured by four bolts.

This layout removes the need to purchase a separate pillow block for the bearing. It also gives the installer a visible flange face that can be seated directly against the machined surface.

The page photographs show more than one flange outline. Most images use a four-hole flange with straight sides and rounded ends; the group photograph also contains a circular four-hole version. These shapes require different outer profiles and bolt locations even when their bearing bores appear similar.

Product Description

The plate bore is not intended to clamp the sleeve tightly. It provides clearance and support around the cylindrical body, while the flange controls the installed position. An undersized bore may compress the shell and make the bearing difficult to move along the shaft.

Before tightening the bolts, the complete flange face should contact the mounting plate. If dirt, burrs or an uneven edge hold one side away from the plate, tightening the opposite side can tilt the bearing axis.

The four bolts should be tightened gradually in a diagonal sequence. Movement can then be checked with the shaft installed. This is particularly important when two flange bearings guide the same shaft, because both bearing centres must follow one line.

Flange outline, hole diameter and bolt-circle dimensions must be taken from the selected model drawing. A circular flange and a straight-sided flange should not be exchanged simply because they accept the same shaft diameter.

FAQ

Does this bearing require a separate aluminum housing?

No. The integrated flange provides the mounting interface, although the machine plate still requires a correctly sized bore for the cylindrical body.

Should the plate bore grip the bearing sleeve?

It should not distort the sleeve. The required bore fit must follow the selected bearing drawing.

Can the round and straight-sided flange versions use the same mounting holes?

Not automatically. Their outside shape and bolt pattern must be checked separately.

Why should the flange bolts be tightened diagonally?

Gradual diagonal tightening helps seat the flange evenly and reduces the risk of pulling the bearing axis out of alignment.

Can a flange pattern be produced from an existing machine drawing?

We build to customer drawings under OEM/ODM, and accept orders as small as a single piece for standard sizes.
