The cylindrical section contains recirculating steel balls that run along a matching 8 mm round shaft. As the bearing moves, the balls return through internal circuits rather than leaving the bearing body.

 

Its circular flange provides four mounting positions around the shaft centerline. This arrangement is useful when the bearing must be fitted against the face of a carriage or equipment plate.

 

The bearing sleeve and balls are made from GCr15 bearing steel. A resin cage separates and guides the ball circuits, while Buna N seals with 65Mn spring-steel backing are fitted at the ends.

 

Product Description

LMF8UU should be mounted with its flange seated evenly against a flat surface. Uneven tightening or a distorted mounting plate can alter the bearing bore and cause tight movement after assembly.

 

Use the bearing with a correctly sized 8 mm linear shaft. Before installing the carriage, confirm that parallel shafts are aligned and that the bearing can pass through the full travel by hand.

 

This compact size is used in printers, electronic equipment, light automation fixtures, inspection devices and other assemblies carrying moderate loads. It is not intended to compensate for a bent shaft or inaccurately positioned mounting holes.

Is LMF8UU the same as LM8UU?

Both are made for an 8 mm shaft, but LMF8UU includes an integrated round flange. LM8UU is a plain cylindrical bushing that normally requires a separate housing.

Can the bearing be mounted in either travel direction?

Yes. Its orientation can be selected around the shaft, provided that the flange sits flat and the mounting pattern matches the plate.

Why does the bearing feel tight after installation?

Check the shaft diameter, shaft straightness, alignment between bearings and whether the flange was tightened against an uneven surface.

Does LMF8UU support heavy radial loads?

It is a compact point-contact linear bearing intended for moderate loading. Load requirements should be checked before using it in a heavily loaded axis.
