Product Details

The SK body converts two fastening points in the machine base into one elevated shaft seat. Its bore passes completely through the upright section, allowing the shaft to enter from either side.

 

A narrow opening connects the bore to the top of the housing. Tightening the upper screw draws the two sides of this opening together and grips the shaft. The holder contains no balls, seals or moving carriage; its job is to remain stationary after assembly.

 

The pictured version has a black-finished aluminum-alloy body. Stainless steel is mentioned on the original page as an alternative rather than the default construction.

 

Product Description

The mounting direction is the main reason to choose this format. An SK holder is fastened from above onto a horizontal plate. A flange-style shaft support is normally used when the available mounting face is positioned at the end of the shaft. These layouts should not be treated as interchangeable.

 

For a paired installation, both housings must place their bores on the same shaft line. The relevant checks are the height of that line above the plate, the distance between the base fasteners and the available width around each support.

 

The SK name identifies the construction family but not one universal set of dimensions. The original page does not publish a complete size chart or an allowable load value. Orders should therefore be matched to a drawing or to measurements taken from the existing holder.

When is an SK holder more suitable than a flange support?

Use the SK layout when the mounting surface is underneath the shaft. A flange support is intended for a mounting face positioned at the shaft end.

Does this holder slide along the shaft?

No. It stays attached to the machine base. A separate linear bearing or carriage provides travelling motion.

Can the SK series name determine the mounting-hole positions?

No. The bore size, center height, foot width and fastener spacing must be checked for the selected version.

Can one holder support an overhanging shaft?

That depends on the shaft diameter, unsupported length and applied load. The page provides no cantilever-load rating, so suitability cannot be confirmed from the product name alone.

Can a holder be made from supplied dimensions?
