The stud takes the place of the inner ring found in a standard needle roller bearing, which is what lets this part bolt directly onto a track or cam profile rather than needing a separate mounting shaft. The outer ring is thick-walled with a crowned running surface, matched to a narrow gap between the ring and the surrounding components that acts as a gap-type seal - enough to keep contaminants out without the drag of a contact seal. It ships ready to mount, no additional assembly required.

Built for cam drives and conveyor systems where the roller runs continuously against a track, this design carries high radial load and can also take on axial load from skew or tilting - a common failure point for rollers not designed to handle off-axis force. The relubrication feature is the main thing that sets it apart from a sealed-for-life roller: grease goes in through the stud, so service life extends without disassembly, which matters most in conveyor and cam applications that run long hours between maintenance windows.
