Hollow Chrome Optical Shaft
A smooth, step-free hollow shaft used to support rotating components, transmit torque, or guide linear motion — chrome plated and ground to a tight surface finish for applications where friction and wear both need to stay low.
Description
The shaft's job in a mechanical system is mostly about what it doesn't do: no steps, no interruptions to the surface, so whatever rides on it - a bearing, a bushing, a rotating collar - moves smoothly without catching on machined features. That smooth, continuous surface is what lets it double as a support member, a torque-transmission shaft, and a linear guide depending on how it's used.
Chrome coating thickness runs at least 0.01mm, thick enough to hold up against wear and corrosion over repeated cycles. Surface roughness is held to Ra 0.4μm or better - our most recent production batch measured Ra 0.141μm, well inside that spec, which is the kind of finish that keeps friction and energy loss down in continuous linear motion applications.
These shafts show up in CNC machines and automation equipment, 3D printers and linear motion systems, robotics and packaging machinery, and optical or precision engineering setups where shaft straightness and surface finish directly affect measurement accuracy.
