Product Details

The shaft surface is induction hardened to improve resistance to rolling contact and wear. Precision grinding and polishing control the outside diameter and surface finish required by round linear bearings.

 

Diameter, length, tolerance and material must be specified when ordering. Optional end machining can include threads, reduced journals, axial or radial tapped holes, flats, keyways and retaining-ring grooves.

 

Product Description

This hardened shaft serves as the running surface in a round-shaft linear motion system. It can be combined with linear ball bearings, bearing housings and shaft supports to guide reciprocating movement.

 

Typical applications include automated machinery, printing equipment, packaging systems and industrial positioning mechanisms. The shaft must be supported according to its length and applied load because an unsupported shaft can deflect. Hardened sections should also be identified before performing additional machining.

 

We build to customer drawings under OEM/ODM, and accept orders as small as a single piece for standard sizes.
