This solid steel shaft has a ground running surface finished with hard chrome plating. It is made for linear bearings that travel directly along a round shaft.

Product Details
The hard chrome layer gives the shaft surface better resistance to wear and light corrosion than an untreated steel shaft. The steel core provides the stiffness needed to support linear bearing loads.
Available diameters range from 3 mm to 150 mm. Shafts can be cut to length, and machining such as end threads, retaining-ring grooves, flats or drilled holes can be added when shown on the customer drawing.
Product Description
Hard chrome shafts are used with linear ball bearings, shaft supports and round-rail bearing blocks in automation equipment, CNC machinery, packaging systems and measuring devices.
The shaft diameter must match the bearing bore. Support spacing should also be considered because a long shaft supported only at its ends can bend under load. Hard chrome improves surface protection, but it should not be treated as a substitute for stainless steel in continuously wet or strongly corrosive conditions.
We build to customer drawings under OEM/ODM, and accept orders as small as a single piece for standard sizes.
