The working surface is induction hardened before grinding and polishing. The page states a surface hardness of HRC60–64 and a chrome layer of 10–20 μm.

Areas used by a linear bearing must remain cylindrical. Threads and wrench flats should be positioned beyond the bearing travel unless the assembly drawing provides separate clearance.

 

The published weight range is 0.06–10.0 kg. Actual weight changes with diameter, finished length and the amount of material removed during machining.

FAQ

Why must the steel grade be written on the order?

The original page mentions both carbon steel and GCr15. A written material designation prevents the two descriptions from being confused.

Does chrome plating remain on a machined shaft end?

Not necessarily. Turning, grinding or drilling after plating can remove the protective layer from the worked area.

Can the rod be supplied at an intermediate length?

Yes. The published length range is 100–2950 mm, and the finished dimension can follow the order drawing.

What should an end-machining drawing contain?

Mark the total length, reference end, stepped diameters, threads, flats, holes, chamfers and tolerances.
