How the Flange Changes Installation
Bolting the round flange directly to a mounting surface removes the need for a separate housing block, which simplifies both the design and the assembly step compared to a housing-mounted bearing. Inside, rows of steel balls circulate as the shaft moves, keeping resistance low and consistent across the stroke.
Reading the Model Number
The number in the model isn't arbitrary - LMF08UU pairs with an 8mm shaft, LMF20UU with a 20mm shaft, and so on up to LMF60UU for a 60mm shaft. The "UU" suffix means seals on both ends. Thirteen sizes cover the range: LMF06UU, LMF08UU, LMF10UU, LMF12UU, LMF13UU, LMF16UU, LMF20UU, LMF25UU, LMF30UU, LMF35UU, LMF40UU, LMF50UU, LMF60UU.
What the Shaft Needs to Be
The bearing and shaft always ship as a matched nominal size, and that match only works if the shaft itself is right - hardened, with a proper surface finish. A soft, unhardened shaft wears down quickly under the ball tracks and shortens the bearing's life well before its rated cycle count. These bearings are built for linear travel, not shock loading - sudden impact loads aren't what this design is meant to absorb.
