FK Flanged Fixed Side Unit
The FK series is a flange-mounted fixed-end support for ball screw assemblies. It locates the screw shaft axially and provides a rigid mounting interface where a compact round housing is preferable to a base-mounted support block.
Description
Product Details
An FK unit is installed at the drive end of the ball screw, normally close to the motor and coupling. Its internal bearing arrangement carries radial load while resisting axial force in both travel directions. This keeps the screw shaft at a defined axial position as the table accelerates, stops and reverses.
The round flange allows the housing to be secured directly against a prepared mounting face. Compared with a base-mounted BK unit, the difference is mainly the housing and installation arrangement; both series serve as fixed-side supports. The matching unit for the opposite end is the FF series.
Product Description
Install the FK unit only on a shaft end machined to the dimensions required by the selected model. The bearing seats, locknut thread and shoulder positions must correspond with the support-unit drawing. A matching model number does not compensate for incorrect shaft-end machining.
During installation, leave the FK and FF housings slightly loose until the ball screw is aligned with the machine axis. Check rotation through the full travel, then tighten the mounting fasteners progressively. Do not dismantle or independently alter the internal fixed-side bearing arrangement.

FAQ
1. Is FK a fixed-side or supported-side unit?
FK is the fixed-side unit. FF is used at the opposite supported end of the ball screw.
2. What is the difference between FK and BK?
Both perform the fixed-side function. FK uses a round flanged housing, while BK uses a base-mounted block. Selection depends on the machine's mounting structure and available space.
3. Can an FK unit convert rotary motion into linear motion?
No. Motion conversion is performed by the ball screw and nut. The FK unit supports and axially locates the screw shaft.
4. Can the FK unit be installed without an FF unit?
The opposite-end arrangement depends on the screw length, speed and machine design. For the standard fixed-supported layout, FK is paired with FF.
5. What information should accompany an inquiry?
Please provide the FK model, ball screw specification, shaft-end drawing and required quantity.
6. Are standard and drawing-based orders accepted?
We build to customer drawings under OEM/ODM, and accept orders as small as a single piece for standard sizes.
