One CA Block or Two SA Blocks

A single EGH15CA gives the plate one longer bearing footprint. It occupies less rail space than two separated blocks and keeps the number of mounting components low.

 

Two EGH15SA blocks can be positioned apart from each other. The distance between them increases the support span beneath a long plate, but the complete arrangement consumes more rail length and needs additional mounting holes.

 

These layouts are not direct substitutes. The correct choice depends on the load position, plate length, available rail length and moment acting on the carriage.

 

When a Second Rail Is Needed

Adding another block to the same rail increases support along that rail. It does not create width across the machine.

 

A wide platform or an offset load may require two parallel EGR rails rather than additional blocks placed in one line. In that arrangement, both rail spacing and block spacing become part of the platform design.

 

The comparison image includes EGH15SA and EGH15CA on one rail to show their physical difference. It should not be treated as an instruction to mix different block codes in one load-sharing assembly. Blocks intended to share a plate should be ordered with matching size, block type, preload and accuracy requirements.

FAQ

Is one CA block equivalent to two SA blocks?

No. Their contact arrangement, mounting pattern and occupied rail length are different. Selection requires the actual load and platform layout.

Why would two short blocks be spaced apart?

The separation creates a longer support span beneath the moving plate and can improve resistance to an offset load acting along the travel direction.

When are two rails more appropriate?

Two rails are considered when the platform needs support across its width or must resist a load positioned away from a single rail centerline.

Can SA and CA blocks be mixed because the photograph shows both?

The photograph compares their dimensions. Blocks sharing one working plate should use specifications selected for the same load-sharing arrangement.

Does adding a second block change the required rail length?

Yes. The rail must accommodate the working movement, both block lengths, their spacing and suitable end allowance.

Can the block layout be prepared from a machine drawing?

We build to customer drawings under OEM/ODM, and accept orders as small as a single piece for standard sizes.
