Product Details

The SFK range is built around small shaft diameters and relatively short leads. The smallest listed combination is SFK0401, with a nominal diameter of 4 mm and a lead of 1 mm. The largest listed diameter is 25 mm, available with either a 2 mm or 3 mm lead.

 

Several diameters have more than one lead option. This allows the equipment designer to retain a similar shaft size while changing the amount of linear movement generated by each revolution. For example, the 12 mm group includes 2 mm, 4 mm and 5 mm leads.

 

The screw spindle is produced by rolling. It should not be presented as a ground ballscrew unless a separate manufacturing specification confirms otherwise.

 

Product Description

This series is suited to compact feed mechanisms, adjustment devices and small automated axes where the space available for the screw and nut is limited. The shorter leads also make it easier to obtain small mechanical increments without relying entirely on electronic control settings.

 

Model selection begins with the required movement per revolution. Shaft diameter is then checked against the working length, axial load and support arrangement. Choosing only by outside diameter can produce the wrong result because models such as SFK1002 and SFK1004 generate different travel from the same number of motor revolutions.

 

The finished shaft must be longer than the machine's required stroke. Additional space is occupied by the nut, bearing supports, coupling connection and end clearances. These sections should be included in the drawing before the final length is confirmed.

During assembly, the nut bracket should meet the ball nut without pulling it away from the screw axis. The ballscrew drives the mechanism, while a separate guide structure supports the moving component. Lubrication and protection from contamination must also be provided by the machine design.
