SFU1610 Single Nut Ball Screw
SFU1610 is the 16 mm screw option for layouts that need a 10 mm advance from each shaft turn. Its single flange nut mounts to the driven component while the screw remains supported at both ends.
Description
Product Details
The practical reason for choosing SFU1610 is its 10 mm lead. Compared with a 16 mm screw using a 5 mm lead, it moves twice as far for the same number of motor revolutions. This makes it useful where the axis must cover distance efficiently, although the motor, feedback system and control settings must still provide the required positioning resolution.
Its nut has a circular flange with mounting holes for attachment to the nut bracket. The screw thread and internal ball tracks are manufactured as a matching pair. Substituting a different-lead nut on the same nominal shaft diameter is not acceptable because the raceway geometry will not correspond.
Product Description
An SFU1610 order starts with the required machine stroke, but the finished screw must be longer than that stroke. Additional length is needed for the nut body, bearing sections, locking thread, coupling journal and clearance at both travel limits. These dimensions should be established on the assembly drawing before the shaft is cut or machined.
The screw should sit between a fixed bearing unit and a supported end. Its centerline must agree with the nut bracket and the machine guideways throughout the complete stroke. If the nut housing is used to pull an incorrectly positioned screw into alignment, the resulting side force can cause inconsistent running torque.
This component provides the pushing and pulling action for the axis. The table itself must run on rails, bearings or another guide arrangement. Protective covers are advisable when the mechanism operates near metal chips, abrasive dust or woodworking debris.
Specify the SFU1610 model, total length and both end profiles when requesting production. If the part replaces an existing screw, include a dimensioned sketch rather than supplying only the old shaft's overall length.
We accept orders as small as a single piece for standard sizes. Please contact us for delivery lead time based on order quantity.

FAQ
Q: Why select SFU1610 instead of SFU1605?
A: SFU1610 advances 10 mm per revolution, while SFU1605 advances 5 mm. The correct choice depends on the required feed rate and positioning setup.
Q: Can the nut be rotated while the screw remains stationary?
A: The standard arrangement normally rotates the screw and moves the nut. A rotating-nut system requires a different mechanical configuration.
Q: Should I order a screw equal to the required stroke?
A: No. Space must also be provided for the nut, shaft ends, supports and travel limits.
Q: What drawing is needed for end machining?
A: Show all bearing diameters, shoulders, threads, coupling dimensions and their axial positions.
