Every SFE model shown in the specification follows a diameter-to-lead ratio of 1:1. An SFE1616 screw has a nominal diameter and lead of 16 mm, while an SFE5050 has a 50 mm diameter and 50 mm lead. One complete shaft revolution therefore corresponds to a theoretical nut movement equal to the stated lead.

 

The nut contains two ball circuits, identified in the drawing as 1.7 turns × 2 rows. An oil hole is incorporated into the nut body for lubrication. The flange uses four threaded mounting holes arranged around the nut axis.

 

The catalogue lists screw-length reference Ls as 3000 mm for SFE1616 and SFE2020, and 6000 mm for sizes SFE2525 through SFE5050. This value should not be confused with effective travel because the nut body, machined shaft ends and safety allowance also occupy part of the total length.

 

Product Description

SFE screws are intended for mechanisms that need substantial linear travel from each motor revolution. For example, an SFE3232 produces a theoretical movement of 32 mm per revolution. This relationship makes motor speed, required travel rate and positioning resolution important parts of model selection.

 

Larger diameter models also have larger nuts and higher catalogue load ratings. Selection should therefore be based on the complete set of data rather than lead alone. The machine designer should consider the applied axial load, operating speed, required stroke, installation orientation and distance between the shaft supports.

 

The screw drives the load in the axial direction but should not carry the table's radial or overturning loads. Linear guideways or another independent guiding system are required to support the moving structure. During installation, the bearing supports, nut housing and guideways must be aligned on the same movement axis.

 

Finished shafts can be supplied with end machining based on an approved drawing. The drawing should include the bearing seats, locking threads, shoulders, coupling section, total shaft length and required threaded length.

A: It identifies an SFE screw with a nominal diameter of 25 mm and a nominal lead of 25 mm.

A: No. Ls is the screw-length reference in the catalogue. Effective travel must allow for the nut length, machined ends and required safety margins.

Q: Can I select an SFE screw using only the required speed?
