Product Details
An SFS assembly consists of a threaded screw shaft, a flanged nut and circulating steel balls. At the end of each circuit, the balls pass through the return channel in the nut cap and enter the loaded groove again.
This return layout keeps the ball path compact. It is particularly useful on SFS models with a lead equal to or larger than the screw diameter.
Product Description
SFS ball screws are commonly fitted to CNC slides, automated handling equipment and positioning axes with frequent movement. Rotation of the screw produces linear travel of the nut with less sliding resistance than a conventional lead screw.
The model number identifies the nominal screw diameter and lead. For example, SFS1610 denotes a 16 mm screw with a 10 mm lead. A larger lead produces more travel per revolution, but it also changes the required motor torque, positioning resolution and permissible speed.
Accuracy grade, preload and end machining are separate order details; they cannot be determined from the SFS model alone. Confirm these items together with the working length, mounting arrangement and support-bearing dimensions.
