Identify the Hardware Before Assembly

The housing with the four-screw front cover is the fixed-side unit. Its matching locknut threads onto the prepared screw end and secures the bearing assembly against the shaft shoulder.

 

The second housing contains a single exposed bearing and is supplied with a retaining ring. This ring belongs to the supported-end arrangement and must not be confused with the fixed-side locknut.

 

These loose components reveal that the two housings are not duplicate parts. Their internal bearings, shaft-end features and retention methods perform different jobs.

 

Three Shaft Features Must Match

The fixed end requires a bearing journal, a correctly positioned shoulder and a locknut thread. The opposite end requires its own bearing journal and the specified retaining-ring groove.

 

Nominal ball screw diameter does not define any of these features. Two screws with the same threaded body can require different support units when their end machining differs.

 

The housing center height and mounting-hole pattern must also correspond to the machine base. Confirm these dimensions before using the support bodies to prepare mounting holes.

FAQ

Can the locknut be installed on the supported end?

No. It belongs to the threaded fixed end and secures the shaft against the fixed-side bearing arrangement.

What happens if the shaft has no retaining-ring groove?

The photographed support-side retention cannot be assembled as shown. The shaft end or retention method must be changed according to an approved drawing.

Is the ball screw body diameter enough for selection?

No. Both completed shaft ends, bearing journals, shoulders, threads and grooves must be checked.

Does the photographed set include a ball screw?

No ball screw is shown. Treat the screw as a separate component unless the quotation lists a complete assembly.

Can only one housing be ordered?

The required fixed side, supported side or complete pair should be stated in the inquiry.

Can production follow an existing shaft-end drawing?

We build to customer drawings under OEM/ODM, and accept orders as small as a single piece for standard sizes.
