The series begins with KR13 and KRV13 and extends through KR90 and KRV90. Each numbered pair shares the roller diameter, roller width, stud diameter and thread specification shown in the dimensional chart.

 

For example, KR19 and KRV19 both have a 19 mm outer diameter, an 11 mm roller width and an M8×1.25 mounting thread. This allows a machine designer to retain the same basic mounting envelope while selecting the internal roller arrangement for the operating condition.

 

KR keeps the needle rollers separated by a cage. This arrangement reduces roller-to-roller contact and is used when repeated rotation or higher running speed has greater importance. KRV fills more of the available internal space with uncaged needle rollers and is selected when radial load capacity takes priority over speed.

Selection can be divided into two decisions. The outside dimensions establish whether the cam follower fits the track and mounting plate. The KR or KRV designation then determines the internal construction.

 

A matching number does not mean that the two versions have identical operating limits. Load rating, permitted speed, lubrication and sealing must still be checked from the complete designation.

 

The dimensional chart also identifies eccentric versions. When adjustment of the roller position is required, the series changes from KR to KRE or from KRV to KRVE. The eccentric type should be selected before preparing the mounting hole because its installation arrangement is different from the standard concentric stud.
