Product Details

The stage converts motor rotation into straight-line movement through either a ball-screw or belt drive. A linear guideway controls the travel path and prevents the carriage from rotating as it moves.

 

This page represents a configurable Z-axis product rather than one clearly identified model. Drive type, working stroke, motor interface, mounting direction, and vertical load must therefore be selected for each project.

 

Product Description

Mounted vertically, the stage can raise or lower tools, sensors, fixtures, and handling components. It may be installed as an independent axis or incorporated into an XY or XYZ motion system.

 

Ball-screw and belt-driven versions should not be treated as interchangeable. A ball screw is generally selected when positioning control is the main concern, while a belt drive is considered for faster or longer movement. The final choice must be based on the required stroke, speed, payload, and holding requirements.

 

Vertical installations also need separate consideration of what happens when motor power is removed. If the load must remain at a fixed height, state whether a motor brake, counterbalance, or another holding arrangement is required.
