Preloaded Rolled Ball Screw
A rolled-thread ball screw that holds its running characteristics even under preload — built for applications where stiffness and repeatable positioning matter as much as low friction.
Description
Converting the motor's rotation into straight-line travel, this screw needs under 30% of the torque a plain threaded screw would require for the same motion - less torque wasted means less heat and a smaller motor can do the job. What sets it apart from a standard rolled screw is that preloading the nut (squeezing out internal clearance to eliminate backlash) doesn't cost it the smooth-running characteristics that make ball screws worth using in the first place; a lot of screws get noisier or stiffer to turn once preloaded, and this one doesn't.
That translates into a few practical advantages: no stick-slip effect (the jerky start-stop motion you get when static and kinetic friction fight each other), high static and dynamic stiffness for stable positioning under load, and a high load-per-volume ratio that lets a smaller-diameter screw carry more axial force than you'd expect. Material, heat treatment, and manufacturing are all covered under a quality system that runs from raw material inspection through to shipment.
