Product Details

A BK unit combines a base-mounted housing with a fixed-side bearing arrangement. The bearings are assembled with preload so the unit can locate the screw shaft axially without requiring the customer to build a separate bearing block from individual parts.

 

The machined fixed end of the ball screw passes through the bearing bore and is secured with the corresponding locknut arrangement. The opposite end of the shaft is normally carried by a BF support-side unit. These two ends have different functions and should not be described as interchangeable.

 

The listed range covers BK10 through BK40. The number identifies the support-unit size, but it does not by itself confirm compatibility with every ball screw of the same nominal diameter. The bearing journal, shoulder, thread, centre height and mounting dimensions must correspond to the selected BK unit.

 

Product Description

The BK housing establishes the axial reference for the screw shaft. Thrust generated while the nut moves in either direction is transferred through the fixed-side bearing arrangement into the machine structure. The BF unit at the other end primarily supports shaft rotation.

 

Correct installation begins with the fixed-end machining drawing. The bearing journal must match the BK bearing bore, while the shoulder and locking section must place the shaft correctly within the housing. Incorrect journal length can prevent the locknut from securing the assembly properly or place unwanted force on the bearing arrangement.

 

The BK housing should be aligned with the ball nut, linear guides and opposite support before final tightening. It must sit flat on the mounting surface without being pulled into position by the shaft. After assembly, the screw should rotate consistently through its working length.

 

When replacing an existing unit, provide the complete BK model and measure the ball screw's fixed-end profile. Selecting only from the housing's external appearance is not sufficient.
