Two angular contact bearings sit inside the housing, arranged so they can push back against axial force from either direction. That's what keeps the screw shaft from drifting once the machine starts reversing direction under load. The housing itself locates into the mounting bore and locks down through its flange. Eight sizes are offered: FK6, FK8, FK10, FK12, FK15, FK20, FK25, FK30.

 

Getting the Pairing Right

 

A screw needs one fixed support and one floating support, never two of the same kind. Put a fixed-type support at both ends and the shaft has nowhere to go as it warms up and expands slightly during a run, so resistance climbs the longer the machine operates. Put a floating-type support at both ends and the shaft has no axial anchor, so play creeps in and gets worse with use. This support belongs at the fixed, drive-side end, paired with an FF-type unit on the far side that lets the shaft spin freely.

 

Matching the Size

 

Choosing between the eight sizes isn't as simple as reading off the screw's nominal diameter. What actually decides the fit is the machined shaft end itself: bearing journal size, locknut thread, and mounting bore dimensions. Two screws sharing the same body diameter can still finish differently at the end, so it's worth checking the drawing rather than assuming the headline number tells the whole story.
