Product Details

The external thread screws into a female-threaded rod, tube end or adjustment component. At the opposite end, the spherical inner ring accepts the mounting pin and can change angle inside the housing. This makes the joint useful where movement would cause a rigid connection to bind.

Product Description

A typical installation places the SA rod end at the end of a control link or actuator connection. The male thread provides length adjustment, while the bearing eye follows the working angle of the mechanism. Common installation areas include hydraulic equipment, forming machinery, suspension linkages and automated mechanisms.

 

The joint is suited to slow pivoting, reversing or intermittent movement. It should not be used as though it were a conventional bearing for continuous shaft rotation. Excessive operating angle can also bring the mating component into contact with the housing and concentrate the load near the edge of the bearing.

Bore size is only one part of the selection: external-thread dimensions, right-hand or left-hand direction, housing clearance and expected load must also match the assembly.
