The inner-ring/outer-ring spherical pairing is what lets this joint carry large loads while still articulating freely - the spherical contact surface spreads load across a wider area than a simple pin joint would, which is the main reason it holds up under repeated oscillation rather than wearing a groove into one contact point. A composite material embedded in the inner ring's outer sphere gives it a degree of self-lubrication during operation, on top of the grease nipple for manual lubrication when needed.

 

Surface treatment options - phosphating, galvanizing, chrome plating, or a lined/gasketed/sprayed sliding surface - are applied depending on the environment the joint will run in, trading off impact resistance, corrosion resistance, and wear resistance based on what the application actually needs rather than defaulting to one treatment for every order. Thirteen sizes cover the POSA series: POSA5 through POSA30, machined from steel, stainless steel, high-carbon steel, aluminum, Gcr15, or carbon steel depending on load and corrosion requirements.

 

Used across general manufacturing plants, machinery repair, and industrial equipment wherever a linkage needs to oscillate or rotate at low speed without developing play.
