HGHS140F Stacked XY Positioning Stage
This XY stage is assembled from two GY HGHS140F ball screw modules mounted at right angles. Each axis can be configured separately for stroke, screw lead and motor arrangement, allowing the X and Y directions to be matched to different travel and speed requirements.

Product Details
Each HGHS140F axis uses a 20 mm diameter C7 ball screw and either two or four HGR15 guide blocks. Available screw leads are 5, 10 and 20 mm, covering applications that favour load capacity, balanced motion or higher travel speed.
The catalogue provides BC, BL, BR and BM motor layouts. Compatible drive options include 57 or 86 frame stepper motors and 100 W, 200 W or 400 W servo motors.
Stroke can be selected from 100 to 1200 mm in 50 mm increments. The listed repeat positioning accuracy is ±0.02 mm for the individual module.

An XY system places one HGHS140F module above another. The lower axis carries the upper module as well as the working payload, so its usable load is lower than the single-axis catalogue value. Final selection must include the weight of the upper stage, motor, mounting plate and workpiece.
A 5 mm lead is intended for lower-speed movement with the highest listed load. The 20 mm lead provides faster travel but has a lower load rating. The 10 mm version sits between those two operating ranges.
X and Y axes do not have to use the same stroke or lead. Before production, specify the travel of each axis, installation direction, motor location, operating speed, payload position and required cable routing.

FAQ
Are the listed loads for the complete XY assembly?
No. They are single-axis HGHS140F catalogue values. The lower axis of an XY assembly must also carry the complete upper axis, so the final allowable payload needs a separate calculation.
Can the X and Y axes use different strokes?
Yes. The two axes can be specified with different travel lengths when the required working area is not square.
Which screw lead should be selected?
Use the required speed and load as the starting point. The 5 mm lead has the highest listed load rating, while the 20 mm lead provides the highest listed speed.
Can the motor position and mounting arrangement be customized?
