A French order left the workshop this week with several SBRS140K units packed into wooden cases. The customer is using them on an automation project, and the shipment will go by sea with our other export cargo.
The SBRS140K is a 140 mm wide Ball Screw Linear Stage. A ball screw runs through the centre, with supported round shafts on both sides carrying the moving platform. Stroke on this series can be made from 100 mm up to 1800 mm, so the same basic stage can cover anything from a short positioning move to a much longer feed axis.
What makes this model useful is the amount of work already built into one unit. The screw, guides and carriage come together on the same base. On a machine build, that saves the customer from arranging a separate screw and guide system before the axis can be mounted. The Ball Screw Linear Stage is used for material feeding, positioning tables, cutting equipment and other single-axis jobs. Two or more units can also be put together when an XY or XYZ layout is needed.
France has plenty of machinery work where this sort of axis makes sense. Its machinery sector covers general-purpose and special-purpose equipment, including handling, weighing and packaging machinery. That leaves a fairly broad range of projects where a ready-built linear axis can be dropped into an existing machine design rather than starting the motion section from separate parts.
The units for this order went into wooden cases after the model and stroke details were checked against the order. They will travel to France by sea.
The standard SBRS140K already covers a wide stroke range, but that does not mean every job has to follow the catalogue exactly. Stroke, motor interface, screw lead and mounting direction can be discussed before production, and we also take Ball Screw Linear Stage orders based on customer drawings when the machine calls for a different setup.
