Today we loaded the batch of precision spindle locknuts for Korea into the container. Quick update on how they were made and checked before they left.
The client ordered these for their high-speed milling project. They'd had dynamic balance problems with standard fasteners before - spindle vibration, threads slowly working loose under heavy cutting. So their drawings called for tighter face runout and a custom thread pitch. We ran the whole batch through our CNC thread grinding section, machining every locknut directly from hardened alloy steel.
Each blank was precision turned, heat treated to spec, then surface ground a second time. For inspection, every piece went on a dedicated test arbor over the granite table. With a digital micrometer and a dial indicator (0.001mm resolution), we verified thread pitch, profile angle, and the perpendicularity between the reference face and the thread centerline. Every piece came in within the 3-micron face runout limit.
After approval, the parts went through ultrasonic cleaning to remove metal dust and grinding fluid residue, were dipped in heavy-duty anti-rust oil, drained, and sealed in individual VCI sleeves for the ocean crossing. They're packed in inner cartons with custom foam cutouts, inside a reinforced export wooden crate - steel corner protectors, heavy plastic strapping, and waterproof outer marks all in place. The container was loaded today.
