Daily Inspection Of Ball Screws

Apr 09, 2021

For machine tool equipment, the function of the ball screw is very huge, once it fails, it will cause the machine tool to fail to work normally. Therefore, we must strengthen the detection of the ball screw in the process of using it to deal with its various faults. The following introduces the problems often encountered in daily use and the detection methods.

The specific method is: put the steel ball in the center hole above one end of the ball screw, check its axial movement, and at the same time use a dial indicator to detect the movement of the machine tool table. The front and back of the ball screw are to be tested. The testing method is the same, but every time you test, you must record the value on the dial indicator, and then make a comparison, so that you can roughly confirm the ball screw. The position where the lever failure appeared.

Then, how to detect when the lubricity of the bearing and screw nut pair is reduced? For experienced masters, the sound of the machine tool during work can distinguish the lubrication status. If the lubrication status is poor, the machine tool will vibrate greatly. This situation generally occurs on old machine tools that have been used for a long time, and this problem will not occur for newly purchased machine tools. Because the old machine tool will accumulate a certain amount of dust during long-term use and block the automatic lubrication system.

Sometimes there is a certain gap between the detection support system and the ball screw. The existence of the gap will directly affect the positioning accuracy and reverse error of the machine tool. If the above problems occur, we can use a dial indicator and steel the ball is used in conjunction to detect the gap between the two.

Daily monitoring of the ball screw can effectively prevent the machine tool from being unable to work due to problems with the ball screw.
