Why does a linear bearing need lubrication?

When a linear bearing is running, there will be friction with air and impurities, which will lead to an abnormal situation in the linear bearing. If a linear bearing cannot be lubricated normally, the noise and vibration of the bearing will increase when it is running. Linear bearing itself needs to rely on lubricating oil for effective rotation.

Linear bearing's maintenance methods.

1. Selection of lubricating oil

The key point of lubricating oil selection lies not in its price, but in its mixture ratio. Some high-precision linear bearings will use a lubricating oil. Usually, when users use it, the lubricating oil can't be replaced at will. It is necessary to ensure that the same brand and model lubricating oil are used every time, and it is not allowed to mix lubricating oils.

2. Replacement cycle

The replacement cycle of lubricating oil in linear bearing is divided into two categories. First kind is replaced according to the use requirements of the product and the corresponding time, usually once every three months. Another method is to replace the lubricating oil according to the specific use situation. When there is poor lubrication, such as surface oxidation, white spots and rotating noise, it needs to be replaced in time.

In addition to the above two categories, it is also necessary to pay attention to the service life of linear bearings. If it has exceeded its service life, no matter how properly maintained, it will still be unable to achieve better service results.

How to clean up in linear bearing.

1. Preliminary cleaning

The initial cleaning is to remove the linear bearing and wipe off the impurities and stains on the surface of the parts. Pay attention to the need to use a soft cloth to wipe off the linear bearing surface to avoid scratches. The initial cleaning can only simply clean up some impurities.

2. Secondary cleaning

Linear bearing needs to use a special cleaning agent for the second cleaning. The PH value of the cleaning agent is controlled at around 7. Immerse it in the corresponding cleaning agent. After about 5 minutes, some oil stains and impurities can be basically cleaned, and dry it with a soft cloth.

3. Drying treatment

Put the linear bearing in the corresponding equipment, dry it according to the temperature of the parts, and dry the moisture in the linear bearing to ensure that the drying temperature is within the reasonable value of the metal, otherwise the linear bearing will be unusable. After these arrangements, a part of linear bearing can be used, but it should be used during the service life of linear bearing.
