In industrial production, there are many names for linear modules. Today, we will briefly talk about the common names for linear modules.

1. Linear module: synonymous with linear sliding table, and basically interchangeable with each other. Linear module generally refers to the transmission module that can complete linear motion and linear positioning, generally excluding motor drive and motion control system. Commonly used linear modules are divided into ball screw linear module and synchronous belt transmission linear module.
2. Single-axis robot: synonymous with single-axis manipulator, single-axis robot refers to a motion unit with one degree of freedom, which generally includes executive unit, servo system and motion control system. The axis mentioned in the robot profession actually refers to a degree of freedom. In the space system, it is generally defined as X-axis movement, Y-axis movement, Z-axis movement, X-axis rolling, Ya-axis rolling and Z-axis rolling. Different from the linear module, the single-axis robot can complete both linear motion and rotary motion. Single-axis robots generally include servo system and motion control system. Multiple single-axis robots are combined into a coordinate robot, which can realize multi-dimensional motion control.
3. Electric sliding table: electric sliding table refers to the sliding actuator driven by electricity. Driven by compressed air is a pneumatic sliding table, also known as an electric cylinder. This term is a common name, which is an inaccurate statement. It is not recommended and the number of people in the market is very small.
4. Cartesian robot: can be combined into two-axis, three-axis and four-axis cartesian robot arms through different combinations. Common two-axis combined mechanical arms are cantilever, horizontal, vertical and gantry. Common three-axis combined mechanical arms include three-axis cantilever type, three-axis gantry type and three-axis vertical type.
Linear module plays an important role in industrial automation equipment, with its fast movement speed, high precision of repeated positioning and compact design, which is suitable for both large and small factory automation processing machinery and provides important support for the performance and efficiency of automation equipment.
